Mirkaria is a small backwater nation that was once a mighty empire but now plays only a minor part in world events. Krenz is the capital. Harslaus Castle, the royal residence, figures largely in both Johannes Cabal The Detective and The Brothers Cabal.
It was once at war with all surrounding nations. An alliance was formed and Mirkarvia was defeated and never recovered its strength. The defeat is still sore spot for the people of Mirkarvia.
After Johannes Cabal's involvement with the death (and subsequent actions) of the emperor, the country was plunged into revolution.
